At Peacehaven Heights, we teach the three core elements of Computing. These are computer science, information technology and digital literacy. Computer science covers knowledge of computers including data, programming and algorithms etc. Information technology refers to digital artefacts such as using apps like spreadsheets and image editing, as well as referring to computing contexts which is how computing is used purposefully and the breadth and depth of its history. Digital literacy focuses on pupils need to use devices safely, effectively and discerningly. There is not always a requirement to use physical equipment in each lesson. The Peacehaven Heights curriculum is based on the Teach Computing curriculum, as well as the DfE National Curriculum Computing Programme of Study.
